Florian Meierott Curriculum Vitae

 

Florian Meierott started playing at the age of four and after his studies and attending masterclasses led by, among others, Max Speermann, Ulf Hoelscher und Zakhar Bron, he attained the niveau of an internationally popular virtuoso (Soloist of the Brahms Concerto with the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra), teacher and composer in nearly all respected music education venues in the world.

For years Florian Meierott has been a well-respected educator of children and young adults and he hosts international seminars and courses teaching methodology of the violin.

From 2008 to 2014, he taught violin and didactics at the Hochschule für Musik (Music Academy). He lives, with his family, in the „Villa Paganini“ in Kitzingen in Bavaria.

He not only tutored the violin, but he was also responsible for a series of concerts and sponsored an international competition for violinists.

His book on methodology of the violin from 2012 has been used in many countries as lesson and rehearsal material.

 

 

Iris Schmid Curriculum Vitae

 

Iris Schmid was born in Munich, Germany and started playing the piano at the age of six competing in the “Jugend musiziert” scholarship program in the solo and chamber music categories. Starting in 1988, she studied piano and school music with Professor Edith Thauer in the Music Academy in Würzburg. In 1993, after completing her degree, she studied further under the tutelage of Professor Thauer. From 2000 to 2002, she studied music and physical education at the Orff Institute of Salzburg and was active in the research group “Mensch und Musik” (Humans and Music) in the Mozarteum (Mozart Academy). 2003 she was an instructor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She is still active as an educator in Bavaria as well as the teaching academy in Salzburg. Together with the violinist Florian Meierott, they developed a concept for a school program “Classic is cool”. Working together with the local schools, this program introduced Classical music to a young audience.
